ETAP signs acquisition contract of Swedish company “PA RESOURCES” shares in Tunisia

The Tunisian Company for Petroleum Activities (ETAP) signed on Friday an agreement to acquire shares of oil returning to the Swedish company “PA RESOURCES in Tunisia,” said in a statement, the Ministry of Energy and mines.






“This contract assignment covering inter alia the license Zarat, Dido concession (Gulf of Gabes) and Douleb, Semmama and Tamesmida concessions (Kasserine), was directed at economically advantageous conditions,” the statement said, without giving details of these conditions and the amount of the contract. For the Ministry of Energy and Mines “this operation, first of its kind, is strategically majeure for Tunisia because it secures additional hydrocarbon reserves of the country and offers the ETAP, the ability to better control the development of discoveries of gas fields in the Gulf of Gabes. ”
The same source adds that “for the first time in its history, and thanks to this, ETAP accesses the oil operatorship at production level.”
The contract was signed Friday by Mohamed Akrout, CEO of ETAP and Mark Mc Allister on behalf of PA Resources, during a ceremony chaired by Mongi Marzoug, Minister of Energy and Mines, in the presence Zakaria Hamad, Minister of industry and Ridha Ben Mosbeh, minister in charge of economic issues to the head of Government.
